A fairly simple example of a system is a tuneable light source. This system would combine a light source with a Spectrometer used as an optical filter to isolate specified wavelengths. It would also a parabolic mirror to take the filtered light and beam it onto a sample. Lamp + Spectrometer + optics.
Taking it a bit further. If someone wants to measure the UV transmission of glasses used in light bulbs (this is important to limit harmful UV rays in home lighting.) they can use our VUV/UV Transmissometer system. Such a system would use a tunable light source (a) with an optical sample holder and a detection system to measure the light passing through the sample.
